Children in the care system experience significant losses when they come into care for a variety of reasons. Losing someone or something you love or care deeply about is very painful.

Children and young people may experience all kinds of difficult emotions and it may feel like the pain and sadness there experiencing will never let up.

There are normal reactions to a significant losses, but while there is no right or wrong ways to grieve, there are healthy ways to cope with the emotional pain, which can help with children and young people moving forward with their lives.
