Psychoactive Substance Awareness Training

This training is appropriate for all of those caring and working with children and young people who are at risk of taking Psychoactive Substances.

The drugs scene over the last few years has been changing rapidly, with a new ‘research chemical’ on sale every week.

This one day course looks at the history, pharmacology, and legality of Psychoactive Substances, and will examine the profile of the users of these designer drugs, the risks associated with them, and ways to help.

By the end of the day, participants will have learnt about the different types substances, routes of supply, and methods of administration. They will have heard about problems associated with use, including poly-drug use, sources of information and support, potential treatment options and harm minimisation advice.

The course is suitable for anyone wishing to update their knowledge of this rapidly changing field.
